In accordance with Section C, Article IX of District Sewer Use Ordinance 67, no person shall construct a building lateral, street lateral or make a connection with any public sewer without first obtaining a written permit from the District and paying all fees and connection charges as required.

Obtaining Sewer Permits
Sewer permits issued by the District are required for all sewer work performed outside the building foundation. In addition, for commercial properties, sewer permits are required for any additional tenant spaces created or plumbing added within the building.

The application for a permit for public sewer construction shall be accompanied by two (2) complete sets of plans with profiles that comply with all applicable ordinances, rules, regulations, and standards of the District. The plans shall be prepared by a Civil Engineer registered in the State of California, showing all details of the proposed work based on an accurate survey of the ground. The plans and profiles shall be examined by the Technical Services Department who shall within thirty (30) days approve them as filed or require them to be modified as deemed necessary to conform with District standards. Once the plans and profiles have been approved, and the appropriate bonds are posted, a permit will be issued upon the payment of all applicable connection and inspection fees.

For fees see Section C, Article IX of Sewer Use Ordinance 67.
